- As I think it's not the S3 but the compatibility of most cards
- to the old 8514/A Display Adapter by IBM. This adapter uses the
- 02E8...02ED addresses (and much more) for Display Status ...
- DAC Controlling.
- I use a Diamond Stealth 64 Video VRAM (w S3-968 Chip), nothing
- is written about 8514/A, COM4, I/O 2E8 or so and I have COM4
- installed and it works!
- But with older ones with 8514/A-Interface (ATI cards,...) there
- is a problem. But that was written in the manual.
